Smartlipo® vs. Non-Surgical Fat Treatments
Another of the great advantages of Smartlipo® is that it is a “one-time” treatment. This makes the cost lower than other fat-sculpting treatments such as fat-melting injectables, which require repeat treatment sessions, are not as precise, and do not yield the same beautiful, predictable, natural-looking results.
The tiny, 4 mm incisions are hidden discreetly in skin folds to heal inconspicuously. The procedure can easily be combined with CO2 laser resurfacing and/or radiofrequency microneedling to further maximize skin rejuvenation results. Combining multiple treatments can drop the price of every single procedure by as much as half.
What is Smartlipo® Triplex®?
Smartlipo® Triplex® – or simply Smartlipo® – is an FDA-cleared device used by aesthetic surgeons to facilitate laser-based liposuction (also known as laser-assisted lipolysis), a minimally invasive procedure. Using a straight-directed laser beam to melt stubborn fat and an upward laser beam to simultaneously tighten the overlying skin, the procedure yields results that look youthfully athletic and natural.
Although laser liposuction takes longer to perform and has a somewhat higher expense, the results are superior to traditional or non-laser-based liposuction, because of its fat-melting and enhanced skin tightening benefits. Recovery is shorter, with less bruising, less swelling, and reduced downtime.

Is It Painful?
Smartlipo® is done in our procedure room very comfortably using tumescent local anesthesia only. This state-of-the-art device uses very small-diameter, extremely precise laser cannulas. The lasers pre-melt the targeted fat so that it is removed more evenly and smoothly. Smartlipo® yields outstanding, natural-looking contours with very little downtime – generally only a day or two until return to work/routines. Depending on the size and number of treatment areas, this popular single-session treatment takes between two and four hours.
Where is Smartlipo® Used?

Precision Smartlipo® is an excellent treatment if there is extra fullness under the chin but not a lot of skin looseness. If, however, the neck and lower face have more significant looseness, then a facelift and/or neck lift are better treatment options.
Recovering from Smartlipo®
When we perform Precision Smartlipo® (i.e. for a smaller area such as a double chin) on a Friday or Saturday, for instance, our patients generally return to work and other routines by Monday. In many cases, some bruising is evident for up to a week or more, and a high-collar shirt or a scarf may be used to help cover any bruising that may occur. Some discomfort at the treatment site may be present for several weeks or more after the procedure. Much of the results are evident immediately with further improvements steadily continuing for 90 days.

Double chin treatments start at about $3,500. Combined body treatments for the tummy fat, love handles, inner and outer thighs generally begin at $5,000, and can readily be combined with a tummy tuck if needed at package pricing. The total cost of treatment will vary depending on the number and size of areas, and the extent of fat reduction required.
For facial rejuvenation, Precision Smartlipo® can easily be combined with other procedures such as eyelid rejuvenation, CO2 laser skin resurfacing, or a forehead/brow lift. Combining multiple treatments will drop the individual treatment prices by as much as half.
