Bring Youth Back to Your Eyes
We base much of our initial impression of how we feel about one another on what we see in the eyes. A furrowed brow is a natural consequence of aging – over time, brows crease and droop inward and downward. Unfortunately, this makes us look tired, sad, or angry. Also known as a forehead lift, a brow lift restores a beautiful shape and position to the brows, corrects the hooding of the upper eyelids, and smooths wrinkles in the upper face. Schedule your brow and forehead lift today with Fine Arts Skin & Laser. We serve patients from North Canton, Akron, Millersburg, Uniontown, Canton, Massillon, and Cambridge, Ohio.
Refresh, Rejuvenate, and Reposition
Brow lifts restore attractiveness and vitality equally well in both women and men. Transfollicular brow lifts can even help somewhat to correct a receding hairline. Also referred to as a forehead lift, a brow lift corrects visible signs of aging that commonly develop in the brow area, including:
A brow lift will lighten the heaviness on the lids to create a more open, alert, and refreshed appearance of the eyes. The brows will be given a more youthful position with an arch that better matches the natural characteristics it once had. Brow and forehead lifts are outpatient procedures.
Smooth Out Wrinkles and Worries
If you're hoping to tackle the fine lines in your forehead while raising sagging skin, a customized Brow Lift treatment in New Philadelphia - Dover, OH, at Fine Arts Skin & Laser Aesthetic Plastic Surgery yields several impressive benefits to rejuvenate your look, such as:
Put Yourself First
During your consultation for a Brow Lift Dover plastic surgeon, Dr. Hartman, and our medical team will assess your facial profile, carefully listen to your concerns, and determine which techniques can best achieve your aesthetic goals. Don’t hesitate to voice all your concerns during the consultation – no question is too trivial, and it is important to us that you feel confident and comfortable with the treatment choices you make.
Once a customized surgical plan is created for you, we will educate you on what you can expect, how to prepare for Brow Lift surgery and care for yourself after, and how much time you may want to take off from work or other routines after your procedure. Dr. Hartman’s extraordinary technical skill and artistic eye for detail help to ensure that whether you choose one or multiple facial procedures, your natural appearance will be maintained without any exaggeration, fakeness, or looking “overdone.” The hallmark of our practice is natural-looking rejuvenation.
Tighten and Lift
The actual measurable elevation of brows after Brow Lift surgery is normally between 2 to 9 mm. Brow shape will likely also be refined – its curve, arch placement, the effect on upper eyelids, and improvement of forehead skin are all important factors to be considered in treatment outcomes.
Depending on the technique employed and possible associated procedures involved, a brow lift can take between two and four hours. We perform brow lifts using ProNox (laughing gas) and local-tumescent anesthesia. Having your procedure comfortably awake speeds the recovery while allowing patients the valuable opportunity to participate in deciding on the brows’ final position during surgery. We have these patients use a mirror so they can give us feedback during the placement of the initial “keystone sutures.” Brow lift incisions are hidden slightly behind the hairline to improve the brows’ shape and height without raising the hairline itself – and to help eliminate visible scarring.
No More Sagging
Dr. Hartman and our team will follow up with you daily for the first days after your brow lift to monitor your progress and address any concerns you may have. After surgery, you will be provided with a special phone app to communicate with Dr. Hartman and the team about any post-operative concerns. At our office in Dover Brow lift results are long-lasting, but aging can continue over time. By maintaining a good skincare regimen after surgery, your lines and wrinkles can be effectively managed for decades. Dr. Hartman will help you schedule a post-op appointment for a week after your procedure.
Dr. Hartman is great! Worth it! - Dr. Hartman is amazing! I have been going to him for over a year and I look at least 10 years younger. No one believes me when I tell them I am 50. A year ago, I had a brow lift which turned out great. I wanted it to look natural and not overdone and he achieved that look and I am so happy! I also love the results from the C02 laser under my eyes, face and décolleté and on my scars from a b..."

Back and Better Than Ever
The most important consideration for recovery time tends to be the possibility of bruising and swelling. Some Brow Lift patients only bruise minimally and return to their regular activities in three to five days, while others may have more noticeable bruising and elect to take one to two weeks off. Full recovery takes about two to four weeks.
We encourage walks and light activity starting the next day. You should try to avoid strenuous activity for about three weeks. Discomfort after the procedure is generally very easy to manage. We typically recommend over-the-counter products such as acetaminophen (Tylenol®) or ibuprofen (Motrin®) as that is all that is needed for any post-procedure discomfort. Cold compresses may further alleviate possible discomfort, and we recommend the daily application of ointment to the incisions. Keeping your head elevated (above your heart) while resting or sleeping may reduce the possibility of bruising and swelling.
Botox Cosmetic is an FDA-approved solution to soften the intra-eyebrow “angry 11s,” horizontal forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes. Botox- type products (neuromodulators) generally last three to four months and must be repeated to maintain results. However, to get an actual lift and a lasting improvement of the eyebrow and eyelids, you will want to consider a brow lift. With our brow lifts, the tiny brow muscles that actually cause the frowning look are also surgically diminished to give additional smoothing for decades of longevity.
While you should only make a final decision about which treatments to receive after consulting with a board-certified Facial Plastic surgeon or aesthetic plastic surgeon, there are tell-tale signs that indicate if a brow lift may be right for you.
A youthful and aesthetically balanced eyebrow typically possesses an arch that is raised near the center and a tail that tapers slightly downward. Keep in mind that a sharper arch isn’t necessarily better or worse than a subtler or more rounded one. In men, the handsome brow is more horizontal and tends to be lower. As we age, the brows descend, and the arch starts to flatten. It is common for sagging brows to push the upper eyelids to the hood, creating a heavy and redundant appearance that can even obstruct vision. Skin and muscle laxity is not the only culprit behind droopy, flattened brows – key fat pads that provide a supportive framework can diminish and droop over time. If Dr. Hartman determines this is the case, he may also include living-fat transfer during a brow lift to further restore a natural, youthful appearance.
An endoscopic brow lift uses several small incisions in the scalp to tunnel underneath the forehead to lift the eyebrows and skin above it to a more youthful position - but also tends to raise the hairline. It involves no skin removal. A transfollicular or hairline brow lift, on the other hand, uses a single incision just behind the hairline of the scalp to lift the tissues so the resulting redundant skin is removed - thus preserving or potentially even lowering a receding hairline
The position of the hairline is a very important consideration with a brow lift. With a “double-beveled” incision placed a quarter of an inch behind the forehead hairline, the transfollicular brow lift encourages hair growth in front of incisions to further camouflage them. Although the endoscopic approach may have some advantages in terms of quicker recovery, it also may shift the actual hairline upwards along with the brows. If you want a stable or lowered hairline, the transfollicular brow lift may be more appropriate.
Our patients often combine brow lifts and eyelid rejuvenation (blepharoplasty) with laser skin resurfacing, photorejuvenation, and/or radiofrequency microneedling. The surgical procedures correct specific, deeper-set concerns with facial tissues, while the non-surgical procedures provide improvements in overall skin texture and thickness. If the above procedures are performed along with a lower facelift and neck lift, our practice offers combined pricing options for our patients. Contact us for more personalized information.
A brow lift costs about $9500, although this number can vary depending on what’s involved in your individual procedure. The details on cost will be gone over in more detail when you come in for a personal consultation.
