This pre-teen was getting teased at school for protruding ears. After careful discussion with the child and her family, we elected to do her otoplasty (protruding ear correction) with the patient awake using local anesthetic and pronox (nitrous oxide). Dr. David M. Hartman and his team at Fine Arts Skin & Laser were chosen as the surgical team for the procedure. The patient tolerated the awake procedure extremely well and was extremely excited to have her ears fixed in time for the beginning of the school year.
